Many people prefer using USB drives as an installation media to install Operating System in their computers. Even though creating bootable USB drive is a simple procedure but it usually takes a lot of time. Here comes the use of the USB Image tool. It is a small USB disk image backup software tool that lets you create an exact drive image of flash drive you plug into USB port. This freeware works with any devices, such as Card Readers, Flash Drives, Cell Phones, DigiCams and Mobile Music Players. Using the application is very simple. Since it’s a portable application you don’t have to install it. Just download and execute it as administrator. It works extremely well in XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8. Sadly Mac version of this backup utility is yet not available. This USB data backup software offers two modes: Volume mode and Device mode. In Volume mode, the software processes and copies the data on primary volume of the drive, however, Windows presently limits removable USB drives to only single volume. The Device mode copies the entire data on a USB flash drive, including the boot sector data. One the right pane of the widow you can find all about the usb device you connected to your computer. To create backup image of a bootable USB drive, Select appropriate Mode from the drop-down menu, choose the connected USB drive, click the Backup button, browse to the destination and click on save button to start the backup process. To restore the backup image, Select the appropriate Mode, choose the connected USB Flash drive, click on Restore button and browse to the location where the backup image file has stored. Then select the image and click Open button to restore the image file. That’s it!
